The Gambling Commission has published its Industry Statistics annual report for the financial year April 2025 to March 2026 with a total Gross Gambling Yield (GGY) of £17.5bn, a 4.4 per cent increase on the previous financial year (April 2024 to March 2025).

Alongside the annual report, the Commission is also publishing quarterly industry statistics for Quarter 4 (January to March 2026) and the latest wave of data from the Gambling Survey for Great Britain (GSGB).

Total GGY, excluding all reported lotteries, came in at £13.2bn, 4.7 per cent increase. There were 8,081 licensed gambling premises in Great Britain, a two per cent decrease, with the number of betting shops falling by 3.6 per cent to 5,617. The Remote Casino, Betting and Bingo (RCBB) sector generated £8.3bn, marking a 6.9 per cent increase, whilst land-based sectors, including arcades, betting, bingo, casino, generated £4.9bn, a 1.1 per cent increase.

Ben Haden, Director of Research and Policy, Gambling Commission, said: “The market shifts that we see in industry data trends, and this year is no different, are complex and will be down to a mix of factors that need more than one source to unpick. I welcome our capacity to publish industry data alongside the Gambling Survey for Great Britain to encourage and assist in the consideration of key questions from these different perspectives.”
