BigBet, the online sports betting and iGaming brand launched by BIG Brazil, has appointed Eduardo Luqueze as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to head operations in the Brazilian market, according to a report by BNLData.

The move comes as the company seeks to strengthen its position in Brazil’s rapidly consolidating regulated betting sector.bnldata.com+2 Luqueze brings more than a decade of experience in communications, marketing and operations, with the past eight years focused exclusively on Brazil’s iGaming industry. Before joining BigBet, he held senior roles at Betmais, Aposte Fácil and NossaBet, serving as Marketing Director, VIP Manager, Chief of Staff and COO. His background includes direct
involvement in commercial decision-making, operational structuring, and building partnerships with platform providers, payment processors, CRM systems and regulatory stakeholders.

BigBet entered the Brazilian market in early 2025, shortly after the country’s federal licensing framework for fixed-odds betting and online gaming went live on 1 January 2025 under Law 14.790/2023. The brand is operated by BIG Brazil, a holding company that has been active in the sports betting and gaming space since 2016. With more than 85 operators now licensed and a regulated gross gaming revenue of R$37 billion recorded in 2025, the market has become increasingly competitive.bnldata.com+3

Luqueze’s appointment comes at a critical juncture for the industry. In August 2026, Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) suspended 14 licensed betting domains for failures in data reporting, responsible-gambling controls and corporate transparency, with non-compliance carrying daily fines of BRL 200,000. The regulatory environment remains stringent, with operators required to maintain rigorous standards to retain their licences.

“Brazil is one of the most dynamic and demanding markets in the world for iGaming,” Luqueze said in a statement. “Big has the product, the ambition and the right timing. I am here to turn this potential into concrete results.”

As COO, Luqueze will be responsible for overseeing BigBet’s operational strategy in Brazil, with a focus on building a sustainable and competitive presence in the country. His experience across multiple areas of the iGaming value chain is expected to support the company’s growth plans as it navigates an increasingly mature and regulated market.
