Top Contenders to Win World Series
Dodgers +229
The Dodgers look to defend their title from a season ago, even with Shohei Ohtani not 100% entering the playoffs.
Ohtani’s performance dipped in the second half of the season, as he dealt with knee and bicep injuries. The Dodgers put him on the IL back on Sept. 9.
Ohtani, who will not pitch during the postseason, hit just .238 and struck out eight times during his last five games. He did have hits in four of those five games, but did not homer during that stretch.
Making matters worse, Los Angeles pitcher Blake Treinen blew out his right shoulder yesterday. Treinen is done for the season after going 4-1.
The Dodgers are still loaded throughout the lineup, but the offense struggled over the summer. Los Angeles has aging veterans in Freddie Freeman (team-best .288 average) and Mookie Betts (.257).
New addition Tarik Skubal, who came over from Detroit in August, is coming off his most dominant performance as a Dodger. He struck out 10 and yielded no runs over seven innings in a 2-0 win over the Giants on Saturday.
Los Angeles will play the winner of the Phillies vs. Braves series.
Brewers +880
The Milwaukee Brewers provide some value at this price. At 103-59, Milwaukee had the best record in MLB during the regular season.
Jacob Misiorowski is a prohibitive favorite to win the Cy Young Award in the National League this season. Misiorowski struck out a league-high 252 batters this season, and his ERA of 1.80 was also the best. He’s 16-5 on the season.
Milwaukee arguably has the best bullpen in baseball, too. Trevor Megill leads the way with 30 saves.
The Brewers produced the second-most runs in MLB this season at 832, trailing only the Cubs. Paradoxically, Milwaukee had the second-least home runs with 154.
The Brewers are looking to win the first World Series in franchise history.
Rays +809
The Rays will also try to win their maiden World Series. Tampa Bay’s starting rotation is stout.

Unfortunately, McClanahan will not play in the ALDS due to forearm tightness, but he could return in October.
Third baseman Junior Caminero made a strong bid to become AL MVP this season. He leads the Rays in home runs (42), RBIs (101), and on-base percentage (.360). Caminero is the proverbial straw that stir’s Tampa Bay’s drink.
One of MLB’s top young talents, he produced 40+ homers, 100+ RBIs, and appeared in all 162 games for the second straight season.
